Red cars?

YOu don’t need to tell the insurance the color of your car, you do that by giving them your VIN. I’ve NEVER been asked anything about my cars, I have 3 now, except my VIN then they just look that up to find out what it is color included. Actually the only thing I ever get asked is what the engine size of my motorcycle is.

While it’s true your VIN has the car color in it, the insurance companies —well, mine at least— could give a damn. And legally, I’d think they can’t charge you more for a red car on the grounds that it’s supposedly more likely to get pulled over. What makes your rates higher than normal for any other driver in the same make and model of car is your personal driving record —how many tickets you actually get.

My mother in law used to insist that there was a correlation beweent the character of the driver and the color of the car.

Black meant old-fashioned and traditional.
Blue was normal and dependable.
White was being overly proud and showy.
Green was really odd and a questionable choice.
Red was a color preferred by whoremongers and prostitutes and it was an insult to even be offered a ride in one.

A decent man wouldn’t own such a car and a decent woman would not ride in one.

Has anybody else ever heard of this?

hmmm… The color of my car is aqua.

I must be odd and normal, dependable and questionable.
