For those who’ve seen both pilot episodes, what do you think of the US (unaired) pilot?
I liked the humor of it and I did not get hung up on the fact that it’s different from the UK pilot episode (_The End_).

It majorly sucked. But then, so did the UK one at first. It took a few episodes, or even an entire season for the UK version to grow on me.

It’s been awhile, but I remember thinking that the US version felt really watered down.

I’ve never seen the US version, but I have been catching some of the UK episodes on a North Carolina cable station. I have to say that this is one of the few British comedy imports that just doesn’t do it for me. What am I missing?

Depends a lot on what series you’re watching i think. Plus some episodes have dated very badly.

I always found the series’ that had them on the starbug (or whatever it was) were stronger than the ones where they were on Red Dwarf. I can’t remember where in the run though.
