Okay, I’ll be the odd ball. I’ll watch it. Hell, if ZakGirl wants to, I’ll see it in the theater. I love Dwayne Johnson in silly roles and Chris Evans in a comedic role is a bonus. It’ll be silly and stupid, but it won’t be the worst 2 hours I’ve ever spent. Plus, it’s NOT a sequel or a reboot of an existing franchise and I feel like I should support those. Let’s let Hollywood take some chances again - otherwise we’re stuck with “Despicable Me 19” vs. “Inside Out - Menopause” vs, “Bad Boys 9” and then we’ll complain about how all we see is sequels. ---

I’ve only seen the trailers for those, but they don’t look nearly as stupid. I could be wrong, of course. ---

You _r e a l l y_ need to see _Violent Night_. A lot of standard Christmas themes turned up to eleven (at least). It’ll be part of your holiday rotation for sure. ---

It looks like someone had some leftover battle footage from MCU movies, unused script pages from _Air Force One_, and an unfilmed adaptation of _The Kidnapping of the American President II_ and found a way to mash them together. Sort of like putting chicken, cod liver oil, and pomegranate in a blender. I’m sure there is someone that would like it. I think I’d rather watch _Santa Claus Conquers the Martians_, and I would not like to watch _SCCtM_. ---

Again, I’ve only seen the trailer for violent night, but it looked a lot better than this. I’ll check it out. David Harbour can sell a lot of things. ---

I did see Violent Night, and it works thanks to how gleefully R-rated it is, from very bad language, to Santa dismantling a platoon of mercs using a sledgehammer and a sharpened candy cane, to showing us what would happen if you walked into _Home Alone_-style traps in real life. I don’t see much of that subversiveness in this new movie. ---

Saw this. A perfectly adequate way to spend a couple of hours. Watched most of the credits, favorite was “D Johnson’s barber”. Thought there might be a stinger, but after the music did the fifth “swelling crescendo to mark the end” I gave up. ---
