I always like the part where previously vituperative secession threads evolve into basically just a giant hypothetical game of Diplomacy.

Well, _of course_ we Canadians will allow free trucking through our territory. So go ahead and split up, there’s _absolutely nothing_ to worry about from Canada, let me tell you! We certainly won’t try to profit off this, no, never, perish the thought!
