Yeah, there are quite a few parallels between this hypothetical scenario and the Brexit situation currently being discussed in the [Irish unification thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/support-for-unification-has-increased-dramatically-in-northern-ireland-over-the-past-8-years-morphed-to-brexit-revisited/934005). However, even if Texas wanted to rejoin, the blue states could just veto it. What is Texas going to do, start a war for unification?
