No. I have no knowledge of why **liberal** was suspended. Since I have been away from the board for a while I do not even know whether “suspended” is now the word for “banned” or if they are 2 different things. **Giraffe’s** post does find **liberal’s** announcement “troubling”. And he calls it “highly inappropriate” to use “real-life misfortune” as “ammunition against one’s opponents in an unrelated Pit thread.” It is not at all obvious to me, though, that **Giraffe’s** post was an announcement that **liberal** was being banned (or suspended, if that is the current usage). I do know that in the past some posters have voluntarily requested that there posting privileges be suspended/revoked and that the administration has complied with such requests. Again, I have no idea if such options are still available or if they apply to this case. I do disagree with **Giraffe’s** interpretation that **liberal** was using his statement as ammunition in the PIT thread, but matters of interpretation are, of course, subjective. ---
