# redlegs

Hey,

Does anybody out there know if the cincinnati redlegs ever  
wore uniforms with the redlegs nickname printed on them

It doesn’t appear so. I looked through a couple of baseball cards during the period when the Cincinnati Reds were known as the Cincinnati Redlegs to avoid any association with Communism. The uniforms had “Cincinnati” printed across the front with the player’s number on the back. The caps had the simple “C” logo. Search eBay for “Redlegs” to view examples of baseball cards from that era. here’s a particularly [good example](http://abacus.sj.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/46b53da3e7c487f1b7757ea720/i-1.JPG) which shows front, back, and cap.

Nope. I’ve got the book _Baseball Uniforms of the 20th Century_, with a picture of every American or National League uniform design from 1900 through 1993, and none of the Cincinnati ones have the word “Redlegs” anywhere on them.
