Is it me, or do the title of this thread and OP suggest that the real purpose of this thread is a free-for-all bashing of Reeder, and not Bush?

Heh. I love how many of the same voices that were crowing over december being banned over nothing are now crying foul. I guess “fair” is all in weather or not something agrees with your politics, hmm?

OK, perhaps I misunderstood. When you said “crowing over december being banned for nothing” did you mean celebrating his banning, or protesting?

I meant celebrating. Lots of the more liberal posters celebrated december’s banning. Lots of liberal posters have mentioned in this thread that limiting Reeder to one thread to bash Bush is unfair, or censorship, or something else of the sort. I find this lack of ability to be objective interesting, although it’s unlikely it’s meaningful in any significant way.

I don’t think the comparison w/ **December** is valid. Those making that comparison seem to forget that he was not banned for starting too many junk threads, but for starting a GD thread where he deliberately alterred a quote from a source in his OP. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back in his case. AFAIK, **Reeder** has not done anything like that.

To be fair, I don’t think the situation is entirely analogous. It would be were **Reeder** banned, or had **december** been confined to one thread for his day and a halfly “Democrats can’t be up to any good” posts. As is now, I was pleased that **december** was banned, and I am pleased that **Reeder** is confined to this thread, though it does seem slightly offensive on a personal level. I would probably have been pleased had **december** been confined to one thread while feeling it was slightly offensive on that same personal level.
I find the arguments that **Reeder** is being censored to be extremely amusing, since there is no free speech on this board. We do not have the _right_ to say anything; rather, we as guests of the ChiReader have the privilege. Furthermore, if you’re going to say **Reeder** ’s free speech is being limited, where is the indignation at not being able to post full Blink182 lyrics (to cite an example **Coldfire** used a month or four ago in a somewhat similar situation)?

selective reading on your part - yes, there are some notable liberals unhappy w/this, but, as I pointed out to **Reeder** there’s nothing resembling a consensus
