Well, it’s been popular for a while. Recipes have been found in ancient Incan archaeological digs combining ground peanuts, cacao, and honey. ---

Gawd, I MISS THEM!!! I am diabetic, but have a raging sweet tooth (which seems common amongst diabetics) I stopped eating sugar altogethrt a few years ago because…well, thing were getting a little out of hand. But I still miss the peanut butter cups. More than that, I miss the Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs and Christmas Trees. They were _wonderful!_ ---

Well first they tried monkey bits covered in chocolate, but market studies showed that people really didn’t like Rhesus Pieces. ---

Strictly in the name of science, I went and bought some Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, from the mom 'n pop drugstore near my office and I talked to the nice mom-lady who orders all the stuff. The Canadian standard for Reese cups are the packages of three. She said _she_ can’t get to pairs anymore, and believes they phased them out because people only bought the threes, but she doesn’t know if vending machine people can get them or not. The standard U.S. cups come in twos as per [Hershey’s Reese’s site](http://www.hersheys.com/reeses/products.aspx?ICID=RES1020#/REESE%27S-Peanut-Butter-Cups). Occasionally you’ll see the white chocolate ones in Canada, but they are usually “limited time” things.
