I think not, otherwise _at some point_ in one of the three movies they would’ve been locked up in a site containing all kinds of tools and materials and then they would’ve forced their way out in some kind of outlandish (but awesome) vehicle they manufactured from the previously mentioned materials with the aforementioned tools… ---

A LOT of folks in this thread are that age. I’m a bit younger than @ThelmaLou, but I happily watched ST when it was a first run prime time weekly show. I liked it but never went off the deep end. I’ve seen a couple of the early movies when they came out and nothing else since. Nor am I interested in any of it. But the original was good weekly TV for its era and my kidly sensibilities. ---

Most of the time when you look up the Star Wars screenplay you’ll be getting a transcript written by some rando who uploaded it sometime in the 90s. In the novelisation by Alan Dean Foster the line is “It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve standard timeparts!” ---

TOS ran during my three years of high school, and I dated an early Trekker who also loved Spock. (I have a picture of him she did somewhere.) We started going out after I taped an episode for her - her parents made her go to a movie during Star Trek time. The episode was “Trouble with Tribbles.” By tape I mean using a cassette audio recorder, of course. A woman in the SF club in college made me stop off at Leonard Nimoy’s father’s barberhshop on the way back from the picnic. ---

One of my big problems with Star Wars was Han treating Chewbacca as a pet. If I was Chewie, and Han ruffled my hair, I would have pulled his arm out of it’s socket.
