# Region setting on Power DVD

I have a Samsung SD-604 (SD!) DVD drive that according to several websites is region-free - [Cite](http://members.fortunecity.fr/gber2/start_3dvdlist.htm), I’ve borrowed a US film (R1) but Power DVD tells me I have only 4 more region switches before it is locked (or whatever) - How can I prevent it from becoming locked to R2 - I’m likely to borrow other US DVDs’.

Just download [DVD Genie](http://download.com.com/3000-2194-6982047.html?tag=lst-0-1) and you can keep changing the region.

I’ve tried Genie since the OP, in PowerDVD the screen is pink - time appears to pass in the GUI but no image is displayed. ☹

Why might this be?
