I had trouble starting a a program today in Windows, and the online help told me:

> [@](#):
>
> Verify Windows Regional Settings
> Click Start then Settings and then Control Panel.
> Double-click on the Regional Settings icon.
> Click the Regional Settings tab.
> If English (United States) is not chosen, select it from the list. Choose OK and allow your computer to restart.
> If English (United States) is selected check to make sure that there are not multiple instances of English (United States on the list. It there are, restart your computer and then come back to this list and make sure that only one English (United States) is shown in the list and that you select it.

I found that English is listed dozens of times, and some of the other languages have mulitple listings as well. If I reboot the problem can go away, but will likely return.

First of all, if anyone knows why English appears so many times, and/or how to prevent it, I would be very grateful.

But even if you don’t, I would very much like to know where the listing is for the languages in Regional Settings, so I can see exactly where the multiple instances occur. I tried the HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\Control Panel\International key, but all it has there is a number, not multiple options for languages.

Any ideas?
