Just to be first (the entertainment shows will probably kick this to the “A” story in the Eastern Zone) Regis finally hands off the jackpot in WWTBAM next week. ABC dropped the story on the AP an hour ago. They won’t say how much the contestant wins because that would give away which nit it’ll finally happen. When it _does_ get shown it’ll become the biggest quiz show prize in history. Then they mentioned that right after that another contestant will walk off with the $1M that the jackpot converted to. ---

I’m confused- (I don’t have TV anymore) Does this mean no one on this show, up until now, had won the million? In all this time? Zette ---

Zette: No, the million has been won before, at least a few times, but they’ve gone through a dry period with no winners, so, to make it more interesting, they’ve put in a growing jackpot in the past few months; it’s somewhere above 2 mil now. ---

Yep! Somewhere along the way (yes, I lost interest, too) they started adding $10,000 each night they didn’t get a big winner. That’s why they’re not telling how much the final jackpot is. That’ll give away the night. Far be it for ABC to milk something. ---

After taxes too, isn’t it? Didn’t H&R Block agree to pay all taxes so the winner actually gets the listed amount?
