Some people may “hold back” on certain things just because they’re dating someone.

For example: Farting, burping, & even going to the bathroom in the same house may be considered “taboo” to some people. However, “breaking the barrier” should be a good thing because it develops better comfort levels within these relationships.

For me, I don’t care if a girl farts or burps around me because she shouldn’t have to go through the pain of holding it just to act more polite around me. Even if she went #2 in my house, I still wouldn’t care.

You see, once that barrier is broken, then you’ll be in the clear. This also accounts for friendships as well. Furthermore, I understand that some people may still feel embarrassed about doing it around the people that they know, despite telling them that it’s okay to let go.

Some people take awhile to develop comfortable feelings towards someone.

Even when I was married, I never just let loose with a loud fart or loud burp. Seems rude.

I do that with most of my family though just to get a laugh, but not my own kids.

I’m kind of regretting showing my young son the pull my finger joke, I did it one time but it made enough of an impression that now he wants me to pull his finger all the time.

Regarding the op, farting, belching, picking your nose etc, yeah those are socially uncomfortable barriers to breach in a relationship, but not really the big baddies. After all we are all, presumably, biologicals, with all the smelly messy grossness that goes with that.

Front Door and Refrigerator Priviliges is where its at for me. Can I just walk into your house anytime I like, maybe even have a key? Am I allowed to rummage through your pantry and fridge and eat basically whatever I want whenever I want? If I have, or have granted, these priviliges to someone, whether its one or both of them, then that relationship is at the highest levels
Pssst, hey **pool** , pull my finger
