If Emily (my wife) dies and I remarry to sussie and we both die, who will I be with in heaven? ---

Both. Of course, you’ll just be in heaven holding hands and singing hymns and such, so it really won’t matter all that much, sexually speaking (which I presume you meant by ‘be with’). 😛 ETA: You might luck out though and one of them was really having a steamy affair with the cabana boy… -XT ---

That would depend on which ones of you get to Heaven. Assuming that you do, you’ll be with whichever of them (or both) has also gotten there, as well with all the other billions upon billions of people who’ve also gotten there. What you won’t be doing is have sex with anybody. And no, no masturbation either. You’ll be beyond mere physical pleasure. ETA: no, going to Hell doesn’t get you to keep having sex either! ETA-bis: this is answered from a Catholic POV. ---

You have a eternal soulmate that you were one with in the beginning, such as Adam and Eve were one in Adam before the genders for humanity were separated. As such there is no marriage in heaven, you are with the one you are designed to Love and adore. The people you know here on earth and are close to and love will be part of your immediate family, sisters, brothers, or a generation up or down (parents/children). Also gender doesn’t mean the same as it’s here, the best way to describe it is you will share both roles and both bodies, and move between them. Source: Divine revelation ---

In the Hindu religion, when He was on this earth, Krishna loved Radha as a child and as a teen but grew up and married Rukmini. It always bothered me - who did He sit with in heaven? It didn’t seem right to part Him from Radha even in the afterlife. Many texts and pictures I have seen simply grab a card from the Muslims (well Akbar was one of our greatest kings and he did influence us greatly) and have Him marry both. Great, but is Radha willing to share? Those are men’s laws - two women to a man. Is that even what Krishna wants? Some have said since He rescued Rukmini from a cruel fate (marriage to some idiot) that she would happily serve Him for all eternity - but that doesn’t sound like much of a heaven for Rukmini to me. And still others say that Krishna and Radha are both avatars of Vishnu - literally two halves of the same soul - so it doesn’t matter, they are united in moksha anyway. Which is just great, I guess, but we do have a concept of heaven, it’s just…temporary, or something, until the devas also achieve moksha. So what happens in the interim? And I have never really understood moksha anyway. But then, I think you need years of meditation/study to truly understand moksha. ---

Out of curiosity, is this the official teaching of the Catholic Church? And do you have a cite for it? I would hope (and perhaps even go so far as to expect) that there would be some heavenly analogue to earthly physical pleasure. Otherwise there would be some Good or Perfection of our earthly existence which our heavenly existence would lack, which doesn’t seem right somehow. ---
