I was raised Uniate (aka Greek Catholic), but am now an atheist. I do, however, occasionally go to services to admire the ritual, the music, the art and architecture. ---

Soft Catholic, with affinities for Hinduism, Buddhism, and Greek and Celtic mythology. (I just made up the term “Soft Catholic.” I consider religious systems as cultural systems for understanding the universe through ritual, myth, and aesthetics. In this regard, I identify predominately with Roman Catholicism, although I’m also fascinated with the very different religious perspectives offered in Eastern cultures. I say “soft” because I don’t accept the idea of a supernatural power (God or other spirit) that transcends the material universe. I guess this really makes me an atheist–or maybe I’m really a UU.) ---
