I was interested in _current_ religious beliefs, as opposed to cultural identification or what belief system someoe was brought up in. So, for example, if someone said they were an “raised Catholic, agnostic” I put them down as agnostic. If someone said they were some mix of agnostic and atheist, I put them down as agnostic. If someone said they were “agnostic/atheist, but attending such-and-such church”, I put them down as either agnostic or atheist _unless_ that church accepts agnosticism or atheism (e.g., Unitarian Universalism, Society of Friends). If someone gave a “witty,” ambiguous, or one-of-a-kind answer, I didn’t tally them at all (sorry, **Bippy** ). ---

To be absolutely frank, I did that tally as much for my own curiosity as for anyone else’s; I just thought that if I were going to count them up I might as well post the list, as it had been some time since a tally had been posted. Subsequently, my intent was not for a specific breakdown of religious preferences, rather an outline of the large groups. I apologize for any resulting confusion/offense or inherent impropriety in so doing. ---
