*Sung to the melody of “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady. I dunno who I heard singing the above lyrics, but it was the highlight of an otherwise mediocre comedy DVD I saw a while back.

Assembly of God here (we outfundie the rest of you here L)- and I lean either to Universal Salvation or something darn close (If any can with finality rebel against God/Jesus with full awareness of Them, those rebels may well be allowed to dwindle out of existence); while I’m an Old-Earth Creationist, I don’t get upset over Theistic Evolution; I’m for civil unions but not gay marriage; and I believe that Christians will go through any future Great Tribulation/Reign of AntiChrist (no PreTrib Rapture) OR that the Trib/AntiC prophecies may have been fulfilled in 70 AD and the Millenial Reign of Christ occurs as the Christian faith spreads to all peoples.
This thread is better suited for In My Humble Opinion. I’ll move it for you.

Quite the opposite, I’m afraid.
There is no neuter in the Hebrew language. So, if I say “he said” the words used are hu amar. She said, however, is he umrah. Likewise, pronouns are always male or female. The word “you” in Hebrew is atah for a male, but ott for a female. The verb tenses and pronouns used to describe God in the Bible are always in the male format. (There may be an exception or two somewhere, but I can’t come up with them off the top of my head).
That notwithstanding, the traditional Jewish view is that God is completely non-coporeal and is therefore not male or female.

I spell it that way out of respect for my friend or anyone else who is bothered by seeing The Name spelled out. As I understand it, it’s not that His Name is not supposed to be seen by “mere mortal” eyes, but that someone might unintentionally (or intentionally) deface the name, and the original writer would be partially responsible.
I do refer to G-d using male pronouns simply because English does not have any gender-neutral pronouns that do not imply non-personhood. I believe that G-d is both genders, or at least he embodies (in some non-physical way) all the characteristics we customarily classify as being gender-related. This is probably considered heresy by some groups, but perhaps not by the majority if Christians.

The election of Robinson notwithstanding, isn’t this still the “party line” even for American Episcopalianism? I know the topic is receiving review but has there been an updated consensus yet?
