It is just a belief in what another human claimed or a thought of our own. The word God had a different meaning thousands of years ago. But if one is speaking of the Biblical God He isn’t what they claim him to be. Actions speak louder than word and their description of A god is not a very loving, caring or just being. A god would have to be better than a human.
That’s projecting what we would like on a god. Who knows, maybe the god or gods are even worse than humans. There were many traditions which held that.
That is true, but no one can say in truth there is or sin’t a God, God has seemed to hide from people and people take other people’s word for it. But the Biblical God is not Just, Caring or loving if one thinks of the things that people say or have written that he did. A human parent would be put in prison for life if they acted that way toward their children.
People really have to cherry pick to get a loving, caring or just god out of the Bible. Even the NT is not nice.
