I’d like to see Texas secede. Then the Mexican army can march in and take the place back before Texas has a chance to react. And they think they have an immigration problem _now_. . . ---

I’m not convinced Mexico would want Texas if it seceded. Any potential immigrants probably would learn to keep going north to the US where the better opportunities were. ---

Well, deja by all over again. Again I’ve been sitting here without power all day as the temperature in my house approaches freezing. At least it’s not a statewide grid failure this time. I wonder if I can hitch a ride on one of Abbott’s immigrant buses, at least they’re heated. ---

Sounds like there’s plenty of generation but ice is wreaking havoc with power lines either directly or from nearby trees. Not that ERCOT or Greg Abbott deserve anything but contempt for the state of our electrical infrastructure, including, in this case, crews unable to do much because they can’t handle icy roads and from some of their repair equipment being frozen. ---

She knew someone in Texas and thought we sounded alike. I think that to her, anyone who didn’t sound Canadian was Texan. ---
