IMO, if she’s old enough to have a real job, she’s old enough to not wake Mommy up frequently during the night unless she is actually dying, not just “dying.” I would not blame you at all if you had a “just because you aren’t sleeping well doesn’t mean I have to join you” lecture for her. ---

This probably belongs in an election thread, but I’m tired of the sore losers going on and on with their pissing and moaning. After hearing that 20 states are considering leaving the US because of Obama’s re-election, I spoke up and asked the whiners to take their political discussions outside. They didn’t like that at all. ---

The real bullshit with that is that NO STATES are considering leaving. It’s just a bunch of idiots circulating petitions that will go nowhere. Next time step up and correct the morons. Exactly ZERO states are talking about leaving the USA. Edit to add that I’d call these people “Whiny little bitches”. ---

Excuse me, assholes at Comcast. You charge me approximately $200 a month. Service was out for ten days. You fuckers do NOT get to tell me you’ll lop off thirty bucks off my bill. You should chop at least sixty bucks. Those incompetent assholes just put me on hold after I protested. ---

I just broke another litterbox. I have some limited experience as to what I want in litterboxes, and the ones I bought after the kids “borrowed” mine seemed to be the same as the ones I have. The new ones can’t seem to stand up to bleach and sun. How stupid it that? They are only a couple of months old and are already falling apart. I am so not moving used litterboxes, but I do need sufficient boxes to keep the kitteh’s happy until we move and get new ones. I’m not sure if I’m pitting myself because I don’t want to spend 20 bucks to replace boxes…or complaining about the waste. ---

Ah, here I can help you. Comcast is pretty easy to deal with. You have about a equal chance of getting a incompetent, a asshole or a helpful person. If you get one of the first two, just try again. Comcast actually has a higher % of helpful CSR than most companies, imho. ---

Humpf. You are probably right, kittehs are teh weird. OK, I’m going to move 3 boxes. Not the ones that keep breaking. And NO WAY am I moving used litter. Drugs will be happening for all of us. Bill is going to take Steve on the plane next weekend. I really, REALLY, _REALLY_ hope that that the drugs will work on Steve. I’m also praying that nobody thinks that they need to open the door to Steve’s carrier. A drugged feral cat loose at Sky Harbor would not be good. A feral cat loose in the plane would be even worse. I tried to bribe Tony to fly Steve to Houston, but Tony thinks its just a plot to get Tony there and not let him come back to his comfortable hovel. ---

I’ve gotten so used to using two monitors and multitasking on my new job that I’m starting to get annoyed that my POS computer at home doesn’t have a second monitor. Not that I have anywhere to put it. ---

I don’t even know how to word this, but fucking childminders! I know looking after small kids is tiring, but you’re getting paid to do it. You’re not getting paid to sit there with six of your other child minder mates to drink coffee and gossip for at least an hour and a half, completely ignoring your small charge who are running wild in the softplay. There’s an under-two year old climbing the three-storey section which is clearly labelled “Under 3’s must be accompanied”. Yes, she’s unaccompanied. I’m keeping an eye on her because I know her mum, but you’ve no idea where she even is, do you? Two of the little boys you look after are budding bullies, and hit, slap and push the girls who go near them. It’s not my place to discipline them, and I don’t even know which one of you is allegedly responsible for them, so I’m just keeping my own kid away from them. And two of the little girls spent half the time just following me and my kid around, desperate for any attention and interaction because you were fucking ignoring them. Yes, they’re very sweet, but I went there to have playtime with my own kid, not babysit the ones YOU are getting paid to look after. Oh, and a pre-emptive theoretical “Up Yours!” to anyone who calls me a Helicopter Mom 😛 ---

Met a woman who’s part of my circle of friends; she’s been part of the group for a couple of years, but only this weekend did we finally end up at the same event. We hit it off pretty quickly, and things are looking good so far… we have a date coming up. Pretty cool girl, and for once, age-appropriate. Of course, now I find out that every guy in this group has been crushing on her all this time, and they’re all upset with me that I’m “stealing” her, even though she’s never dated any of them, and shot them down if they asked her out. If they asked her out at all, rather than quietly being a meek “nice guy” hoping to win her over through inaction. I was, in all seriousness, accused of violating “bro code.” A few are also angry that we hit it off, since they “have a thing for Asian girls,” and they should be getting to go out with her, because hell with what she wants. I get tired of my friends acting like we’re teenagers. We’re all nearing 40, perhaps we need to start acting like it. And I’m dismayed at the misogyny inherent in all of this; apparently, they see her as property to be claimed, and don’t acknowledge her own choice of who to date. ---
