# Remote Computer Access

Hi Guys,
I am at my parents house for thanksgiving, and I didn’t know that I’d be staying as long as I have been, but I have a problem. There are a couple of things I need to do on my compuer, but I can’t because I didn’t install any kind of program like Win VNC before I left. I also think that I have telnet disabled, because I’ve already tried that.
I am not trying to hack it or anything, I am just trying to ask if there is any way that I can log in from this computer? If telnet doesn’t work, will anything else?

You can call a friend who has a key to your place and s/he can email you things.
It’s a low-tech solution. 😃

If you have Windows XP (at both places) and you have remembered to turn on Remote Desktop access at home and remembered to give it access through the firewall and you know your computer’s IP address at home then sure thing!
But probably not…so…BobT’s advice might be the best solution.

I apparently have it disabled…
so much for that. PS nobody is at school now for thanksgiving… I suppose I’ll have to wait until later… ☹
