# Remote Procedure Call error

I have been receving error messages that say the system will be shutting down and it displays a countdown timer of one minute until it shuts down. It says the shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM. Below this is says "Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. I have received this error three times, once while attemting to run Windows Media Player, once while attempting to access the SDMB, and once while looking at Network Administration services in the Control panel to see what RPC was. Each time i got the message i rebooted my computer. What can i do to fix this? I am running Windows XP.

Thanks. That seemed to have solved the problem, but since the messages occur randomly i may not know for a while.
