# Removing a light switch for good - what do you do with the ground wire?

the above will come across wrong. thanks for the information, and I wasn’t intending to suggest that your contribution was useless - rather that it’s not a pressing concern to me if it’s not a safety issue.

any lighting which is switched from the doorway will meet code, lighting triggered by a passive infrared switch or a floor or table lamp (with its own switch) near the doorway is good.
