Removing a stuck ring

I offered to get a ring tattoed on my finger. It seemed a reasonable idea to me: nothing flash, just a black line on ring finger to make it obvious I am married. My wife wouldn’t have it though: she prefered man with no ring to man with tattoed finger.

Interesting idea, a silicone ring. I’m considering one. I prefer silicone to a tattoo.

For our 25th anniversary last year we wanted the silver look and got two simple WC bands from Amazon for $20 each.
Like yours, our white gold bands from years past were all scuffed, dinged, and scratched within a few months. These new rings still look as shiny and perfect today as they did last year.

The inside is a comfort fit and the metal is naturally slippery, so they come off easily.

I don’t plan on wearing mine when in the machine shop, for the reasons many have mentioned.

I don’t know if it is a thing with the younger set or just coincidence, but my daughter and her husband both got tattoos for wedding bands. My step-son and his wife got tattoos also. The step-son works as a diesel mechanic and didn’t want a ring. The son in law works construction and also didn’t want one. All of them got the Ben Casey infinity symbol.

I was a diesel mechanic also and would sometimes forget to remove my ring. One time I was putting in a clutch and had to slip off my ring and set it on the frame of the truck. I forgot all about it and never bothered to replace it.

I had to use the floss trick this morning before I went to continue working on the storm damage. The ring is safely on the coffee table.

Just to make sure I didn’t lose it, I put gloves on before I started working. :stuck_out_tongue:

Eat no salt for three days and your ring is likely to come off. I can tell how much salt I had in the previous day by how tight my ring is. Also my finger gets bigger after exercise or even a good walk.

Yikes is right. My wedding band caught once, years ago, on a nail protruding from a heavy pallet. My whole body followed that pallet until I got unstuck. Fortunately no serious injury, although my ring forever had a bent edge from the nail.

An excellent tip. I take off my nice watch before doing any manual labor. Now, I’ll take the ring off too.
