Oh man, a very good friend of mine blew my mind with R&S. He was the very devil to do it, too. We’re over at his place after working the second shift. “I have something here I think you might like,” he said, popping the tape in. Imagine getting off work, sitting there with a beer. It’s one in the morning and you’ve spent the shift reading the wires, getting your fill of the day’s news. He threw everything at me. Three hours of R&S, and I was sitting there, alternating between crying with laughter and staring in shock at what was going on. I’m proud to say it was one of the highlights of my life. Happy, happy, joy, joy indeed. Man, I miss him. pesch ---

The episode with the happy helmet was just so. . . so. . . metaphysical! Just watching Ren bashing his own head with a hammer to the beat of Happy, happy, joy, joy was cathartic. ---

Oh god, the happy helmet. That’s what’s the best about Ren & Stimpy, the regular chance to laugh incredibly hard with a cringe on your face, like I am right now. I’m listening to Boys In Tha Hood by Easy-E, the part where he’s talking about slapping his bitches around or something. So awful, makes me mad, but I still have to laugh. I dunno why. Also, in the black hole episode, does anyone remember when Stimpy demonstrates implosion with his stomach? I love that! Also, I will not rest until I find audio of the entire ice cream bar sequence. It’s so wonderful, accompanied by the violent tooth-brushing motions. Hehe. MarxBoy ---

(bites and chews bar of soap) And your oh-so-nutty chocolate covering! You’re not like the others, you like the same things I do! Wax paper! Boiled football leather! Dog breath! We’re not hitchhiking anymore! We’re riding! Stimpy: Stop it! You’re talking crazy! Ren: Oh no, I know what you want! Yoouuu coveted my Ice Cream Bar! Stimpy: Come on now. Ren: No you don’t! You can’t take it from me now! I have had this Ice Cream Bar since I was a child! People… always trying to take it from me! WHY WON’T THEY LEAVE ME ALONE!!
