The Washington Football Team. Descriptive, sure, but insanely unprepared. As though they had no idea in recent years that a new name would be needed. I guess it shows the level of actual interest they’ve had in finding a new name. Which would be none. ---

In the past, Dan Snyder had vowed that the team would never change its name; until a few weeks ago, there’s never been any sign that that policy had changed. ---

My guess is that when Snyder does settle on a name, it will be some sort of dog whistle to show he is still on Team Trump. Maybe he can just change the first part of the old name and the team will be the Washington Orangeskins 🤣. ---

The articles I read pointed out that it takes a _long_ time to research a new name and secure the trademarks. I think in most cases for a new product, we’re not aware of just how long this takes, because it happens behind closed doors. But in this case, we know when the search started and will hear when it’s completed.
