# Renaming MP3 ID3 v2 tags

I have several MP3 files that I need to rename. I usually use a small freeware app to rename the files in the format, artist - title.

These particular files don’t work with the freeware app. I did more research and I found out that the app only reads the ID3 v1 tag information but these files have the data in the ID3 v2 tags.

Can someone point me to a software (doesn’t have to be freeware) that can renames MP3 files and manipulate the ID3 v2 tags?

I use [MP3 Tag Tools](http://sourceforge.net/projects/massid3lib).

According to the Help screen on the version I have

The latest version of Winamp is a nice editor if you don’t mind doing one file at a time.

Not just the latest version. I’m using a very old version of Winamp (2.9) and it can edit tags also.
