But my real answer would be Kimi Raikkonen. We’d meet up and ski for a couple hours in the morning, I’d drive him around some mountain roads in my old BMW and try to scare the shit out of him, go home, take the dogs out in the Jeep and start drinking, head home for an epic BBQ, bench racing and more drinking. Maybe some darts. Dave Grohl would be fun to hang with. Ride bikes, drink beer, jam (all that I could). I’d ask him to help me properly tune my drums. He would have to put up with the dogs in the Jeep, too. But I think he’d be cool with it. Maybe some darts. ---

Some would just be telling them how awesome they are. And some would be based on their public personality. I probably wouldn’t like them in real life (see Chevy Chase). But, ones I considered were Tony Shaloub and his wife Brooke Adams. I know that’s two people which is cheating. The other is Liane Moriarty. They just seem like they would be interesting to hang out with. ---

I’ll think of a few different ones, but I’m stretching the definition of “celebrity” to include “people that are known to a few hopeless nerds.” First, T. Kingfisher, noted horror/fantasy/snark author. She seems like she’d be a hoot to hang out with; we could reminisce about the Triangle, a place we both used to live. If she’s not available, NK Jemisin is maybe the best fantasy author alive, and would be awesome to hang out with, but I might be too intimidated by her to enjoy the experience. If she’s up for it, I might get her involved in a GMless game like [Kingdom](https://www.lamemage.com/kingdom/), see what kind of awesomeness she brings to the game. Elizabeth Hargrave, designer of Wingspan, would maybe be a good alternate. My daughter adores the game, and I have been toying with the idea of trying to get a game published, and I might just get her feedback on the game. Honestly, I’m not too sure of others. I don’t have crippling social anxiety, but I have just enough that I’d be spending too much time worrying that I was boring the celebrity, or else I’d be getting bored by them. ---

Sofia Vergara, I’d just hang out with her all day, maybe go have ethiopian food for lunch, then sushi and drinks for dinner. I don’t want her to narrate my day or anything like that, just a chill day hanging out, eating yummy food. I’d be telling jokes trying to get her to laugh, because I really like her laugh. ---

Melanie Joly, Canada’s most recent foreign minister (sort of celebrity?). A few municipal elections ago she was running for the mayoralty of Montreal, and lost. Fast forward ten years and she’s our foreign minister in possibly the most tumultuous time in post war history. I think that she would be bloody fascinating to talk to for a day. Or Amy Lee, founder and singer and pianist for Evanescence. I think that she is talented and bloody smart and would be interesting to talk to as well. ---

I was thinking of a celebrity chef, like Gordon Ramsay or Jacques Pepin. I’m hoping to get some tips on properly dicing onions, or making a proper French omelet; that sort of thing. Maybe even make one of my standard dishes and get an honest opinion of it. ---

Plus Jacques Pepin lives in Madison, Connecticut, not far from where I grew up. I would be curious to hear his opinion on New Haven pizza. (There are three places that are the most famous and most people are in either the Pepe’s or Sally’s camps, though I think Modern Apizza is best.) ---
