I think Welch’s hit was Sentimental (something)…Sentimental Lady?
Angry Eyes was Loggins and Messina.

Looked it up, Rick Vito
I really liked Bob W’s “French Kiss” and his band Paris’ album “Big Town, 2061”.
Does Billy Shears count? I mean, he is a bass player, but when you consider who he replaced (on such short notice yet, after that auto accident) I think he filled the role almost perfectly…
Trevor Rabin didn’t know he was re-forming Yes. He THOUGHT he was starting a new band, Cinema, with some former members of Yes.
But he found himself the guitarist of “Yes,” which made him the replacement for Steve Howe.
Not very long after, Mandy Moore joined Asia as the replacement for Steve Howe.
But only 9 fingers.

Actually, it was Brad Gillis who replaced Randy Rhodes,at least for the concert tour. I remember when that crash happened,we had tickets to see Ozzy and one week before,Randy dies…That sucked.
Imagine how they felt about it…
That was it! Thanks, NCUN.
and **tattman40 **- yep, you’re right, but that was a temp fill-in basis. Before Night Ranger broke and they played smaller venues, they had a schtick where they would allow the audience to call out famous guitar solos and Gillis or Watson would replicate them - Eruption, Clapton, etc. - and Rhodes. Gillis had a reputation for nailing Rhodes’ stuff accurately, so he was a logical mimic for the immediate fill-in. Jake E. Lee was tapped to be a full-time band member…
Why I remember reading that in a Guitar Player interview of Gillis from about 20 - 25 years ago, I have no idea…
