I formed _my_ opinion of the movie (that it’s trash) based on the objective observations of other people (that it’s premise was \_\_\_\_\_\_\_). See how simple that is? I am, however, happy to note that you now openly claim to know better than people who have seen the movie, as long as you’ve got enough people to agree with you. A marvellous approach to film criticism, to be sure. ---

I am not basing anything on the observations of “people I hang out with” - the one cite about my co-workers was to counter-balance lissener’s sweeping generalization, and that’s all. As for the level of effort - I browse entertainment news sites to fill my time. I check out lots of new releases. I’m a media junkie. It’s what I do. I can, quite often, recite the principal cast, date of release, and plot synopsis of movies I have never seen. To address this seriously, though - I reiterate : I can’t watch movies at work. I can browse the net and post to the SDMB. You’ll notice that I check the SDMB once each evening after getting home, and that’s it. As for my traffic-avenger tendencies, that’s just my overdeveloped sense of justice, and that doesn’t take long at all. ---

CG, Many things in the world are like a parfait (paraphrasing Donkey): multilayered. You can’t taste all the flavors in the first spoonful. You’re claiming the parfait is vanilla but you never took the time to taste the chocolate or strawberry… and you keep yelling, “vanilla!” and expecting us (those who savored all the flavors) to agree that the parfait is bland. At least now people will include more diclaimers in their thread titles, and that’s always a good thing. Helps cut down on the thinking. Movies ( **that you have personally seen** ) that annoy you. Songs ( **that you have actually listened to** ) that irk you.
