From some random Twitter guy: “one of the darkest hours in social media i’ve seen. that the video exists? awful. that it’s being saved, shared and RT’d? nightmarish.” I have to say I agree but the genie is out of that particular bottle. No way to push it back in. ---

I am only seeing what is happening online, I’m not near a TV. It looks like there will be a lot of racial shit stirring about this. The suspect previously sued the station for racism. His live tweeting was full of hate and accusations about the reporter and cameraman specifically accusing them of racism. Who knows what was in those 23 pages. ---

Conflicting reports about whether his self inflicted gunshot was fatal. The news is saying they are receiving reports that’s he is still alive. ---

ABC7 in DC reporting the shooter may not be dead, but that he did try to kill himself. As usual, too much happening for all the facts to get out. Tragic, tho. ---

Just watched CNN show the shooting for the nth time after they said this morning that they’d only show it once. I can’t say I’m surprised, I though the whole reason for letting crazy people buy guns was so they could just shoot people whenever they feel like it. ---

Interesting in a way how the anchor’s mind and body work in that situation. She reacts almost immediately and has time to run for at least a few seconds. Very much like what police officers are taught about how much distance someone can cover after getting shot and very un-Hollywood-like. ---

But yeah, I’ve already seen at least one tweet yelling at Twitter for silencing his “free speech.” ---

He used to work for the station and got let go because he was too hard to work with. Not a nice guy. Seemed to be his MO everywhere he worked. He had filed complaints with the EEOC about one of his jobs. The cameraman had reported him to HR and he says the reporter was racist. ---

The reporter was hired after he was fired it appears so his thoughts on the subject may be a little off to say the least. ---

From the image in that video, I’d guess a 9mm, 13 or 14 rounds. I suspect that he emptied the magazine into the two victims after they were down. ---

Not a 1911, it was a hammerless style like the Glock series of handguns. The gun is clearly shown in the video that the shooter posted. His cell phone video has been taken down most places but it is still up in several more. Such is the internet, like it or hate it, it won’t ever go away now. ---
