Your ignorance is showing. The Christian Science Moniter is a respected paper covering international affairs. We were required to subscribe in an International Affairs class at UCLA.
It’s true, which is admittedly rather strange considering what a kooky religion it is. But for some reason they established a legit newspaper nearly on par with the big ones like the New York Times and Washington Post.
Couldnt agree more. They also covered parts of the world the big media ignored. The Reuters app basically does that today.
From further in the link:
There were three customers, who weren’t injured in the incident, inside the liquor store.
One customer, Todd Scott, returned fire from a handgun from the back of the store at Pitts, effectively saving the lives of those around him, according to Rockdale Eric Levett.
“I consider him to be a hero,” said Levett about the 44-year-old Covington resident. “Although we did have a fatality at that location, he did save some other lives that were inside that business.”
im sure watching the murders was for research purposes. We can’t stop people from watching the murder videos, you can’t stop us from looking down on you for doing so.
Nice derail, gentlemen…
Aw, so no and another straw man. And for the record, I’ve never commented on watching them either. Another swing and a miss.
Back to what’s really important here and not nonsense, I sincerely hope the station provides tons of counseling to the two surviving significant others. I cannot even remotely imagine being in their shoes, let alone in the instance of the fiancé who saw the whole horrific thing unfold. May they find some oblivion to get them through tonight.
I apologize.
So far I have been stopped, and I am not happy about it.
ETA: To clarify, I have seen the live TV report. I want to see the shooter’s video.

Thank you!
Wowwww…that is some crazy shit
I can’t believe even the interviewee didn’t notice the guy standing there brandishing his gun. So bizarre.
As a proud “gun grabber,” I’ll say it again: I will always vote for any gun-control measure, and the stricter the better. And if taking away people’s guns means prying them out of their cold, dead hands, I have no problem with that.
Oh jeez…trying to gin up a race war because of the comments of a few idiots? :smack:
That’s the part that I just can’t get over. I know how you can get focused on a task but still ----- that is just totally strange.
So, to be clear. Your contention, then, is the 2011 killings in Norway were “Darwinism in Action”?

I left the footnote numbers in the latter quotation.
Now that you’ve been schooled–twice, mind you–on the credibility of The Christian Science Monitor, do you wish to, say, modify your comment?
I wonder if it’s like in regular stage acting? You’re not supposed to let anything break you from playing your character. Perhaps similarly, they were so focused on not wasting a take (for whatever reason), they simply weren’t paying attention to any of their other surroundings. I mean, think about reporters doing interviews in front of hoards of screaming, rowdy kids (like at a concert, say) and that would have to be a talent you’d need to develop.
That might explain the reporter, but it’s odd the interviewee failed to notice anything.
