I don’t doubt I can keep this up. I also don’t doubt that **Scylla** can find examples of threats against Republicans. It’s just that he’s a little bit late to the “I can’t vote for a party that has people who threaten others on it” festivities, because they’ve been going on for awhile against democrats. Indicating, once more, that he reached his conclusion based on his desire to find some kind of honorable reason to select Republicans with a complete disregard of actual evidence or coherent logic. I don’t doubt that there has been an increase in violence and threats of violence on both sides of the aisle. That’s the world the right wing talk machines have built in the last 20 years. But pretending that it’s just the Democrats and that it’s the reason he’ll continue to support Republicans is complete and utter bullshit. Bullshit he may well believe, but bullshit nonetheless. ---

There is a small but still real number of violent assholes on the left and in the Democratic party. But it’s total nonsense to say that there are way more of them than on the other side – now or in the past – and if someone is trying to justify voting R based on this, I have trouble believing this is anything more than ex post facto rationalization. ---
