Republicans take their ball and go home... Can anyone defend this?

Ahh… yes. The inevitable “but that was completely different” portion of the show… replete with senators that don’t exist and condescension… the deluxe package… thank you for that…

It’s the same spirit, douchebag. To quote "obstructionist, fear mongering, shit stirrers. "

Since when is politicians behaving like spoiled children news? It wasn’t that long ago that Democrats went AWOL to Oklahoma to thwart Republican plans.

Sure, that was a state issue and this is national. Tomatoes, tomahtoes.

They all need cattle prods shoved up their butts.

Actually, a national standardized nap time probably *would *increase productivity.

I wish I had a “Damn, Dude, Fucking Zing of the Day” award, because I would hand it to you right there.

Never. It’s how humans are built.

You think they had another agenda in mind?

Never. See point #1.

Yeaaaahhhh.

I stand by my original post.

twatwhistler.

That says more about you and… Franklin (Who the fuck is Franklin*?) than it does about anyone else.

    • unless you mean Franklin the African-American Peanuts character, which I then ask, when did he get elected?

I meant Franken. I spaced when I wrote out his name and didn’t understand what the heck you were talking about when you chastised me for calling him “Franklin.”

But you knew who I was talking about. So if you’d like to berate me for that little slip go right ahead. I’ll happily join you in those Kaplan classes to bone up on my English skills. Just as long as you go too. Because damn dude, that’s one sorry assed Tu Quoque you’re trying to defend.

Good thing I asked that very question in my post… I guess the answer lies in how you vote huh? Stunning that. But even the troglodytes who handwave like a motherfuck could figure that out.

I have to disagree with never. Society has learned. Women vote, segregation stops, etc. Ignorance is beaten back. If it can happen then, it could happen now.

I think the problem here is one of equivalency.

A three-year old could hit you and Mike Tyson could hit you. In both cases they “hit” you but suggesting getting hit by a three-year old is functionally the same as getting hit by Mike Tyson is absurd.

So, Franken was playing gotcha games and Burr is playing gotcha games. The difference between the two is rather large though. In the first a senator was snubbed from finishing a speech. In the latter a whole senate committee is stopped from working along with all the people who, literally, traveled around the world to attend not to mention the knock-on effects from them being unable to do their work.

BIG difference.

There was some discussion of that at the time. It is my understanding that Reid told Franken that no one was to be given extra time that day. He wanted to start moving some things along. Franken was just doing his job.

and what I am saying is that the only difference between which one is the three year old kid and which one is Mike Tyson is based on how you vote. It’s STILL done by, as someone here said, "obstructionist, fear mongering, shit stirrers. " To try and say well that’s not as bad is the worst kind of hand-waving partisan bullshit that cuases this bullshit to happen.

Again… petty partisan bickering in a petty partisan Congress should suprise NO ONE. The “Well your petty partisan bickering is worse than my petty partisan bickering” is at best, childish and stupid. It’s ALL stupid and counterproductive and the base of why our country can’t get shit done.

So Reid (a Democrat) told Franklin (a Democrat) and Begich (a Democrat) that no one was to have extra time… and the only two that got cut off are Leiberman (a Democrat… umm sure… not so much) and Cornyn (a Republican) when speaking against the Democratic propsal…and there is NO petty partisan bickering going on there? Really?

So you think the fact that some of the witnesses traveled 12,000 miles and presumably also had official military businesses to be getting on with is immaterial?

I have no problem with Republicans doing things that irritate Democrats. I have a very big problem with Congress fucking over people who have actual work to do.

I do… our government gives not one whit about peoples’ lives, travel, time, work, and expenses. To say that THIS time it’s beyond the pale is, again, petty partisan bickering, stupid and ignoring the history of our government’s treatment and respect of it’s citizen’s lives and time.

God damn are you one stupid fucker. You vote Republican, no?

Hey Mr Content -Free post, anything t ocontribute or are you just gonna sit in the back and call names? Or do you anything to contribute beyond your shit smearings?

What more is there to say? You’ve had your equivocation fallacy pointed out. The idea that “being on the other side of the aisle” somehow negates logic and common sense, where refusing to give a speaker an additional couple of minutes of time is somehow equivalent to shutting down a committee meeting where people have flown half way around the world to testify, is completely absurd. There is no equivalence here, and recognising this should be party independent.

If you really can see no difference between stopping a Senator from finishing a speech (maybe cut off a minute or two and it probably went in the record anyway as text) and stopping a whole senate committee from doing its job and wasting the time of commanders who have shit of their own to do and spent tax payer money to fly them around the whole world to do nothing then there is no point in talking to you.

Like saying little kids bicker and there is no difference if that bickering is play wrestling or them breaking each others’ noses because hey…bickering is all the same right?

So IOW…Your petty partisan bickering is worse than my petty partisan bickering… color me stunned… you were better when you were shit smearing.

You are literally as thick as pig shit.
