Republicans want to eliminate the EPA

I propose the venting begins with a thorough fun-making of co-sponsor Loudermilk’s name!

My thoughts. I’m torn though. They voted plenty of times in repealing the ACA but when they were at home plate with the bat in hand, they let the strike go by without a swing. The republican plan for that is still largely unknown. I think the Trio of Dumbassery is just trying to get re-elected.

Right?

Wouldn’t
Letting the states regulate their own environmental regulations cause a race to the bottom though? I live in Oregon. We have pretty decent environmental regulation here but what is to stop Idaho from telling corporations that they can dump toxic waste right on the ground. Wouldn’t corporations be much more interested in relocating to Idaho at that point for cheaper operations? Even though the shit in the river in Idaho would flow right into my state?

Right, but for every California there’s a Mississippi or North Dakota. Pollution doesn’t respect state boundaries. Nor national ones.

That’s what your post looks like to me. What is it with you and these fucking ellipses?

I figure they are from districts where the EPA has been blamed for the state of the local economy.

Dang, where were you? Colton? I’ve lived in L.A. since 1951 (i.e. when I was born), and I don’t remember smog anywhere near that bad since the early 60s.

Even if the bill never passes and the EPA is saved, it’s still appropriate to severely PIT the short-sighted, money-grubbing jerks who would even introduce such a bill. Two separate things.

I’d suspect smoke from wildfires, at that time and that color. It’s happened more than once.

Not a chance; it’s the same as the name of the guywho wrote cool songs like “Tobacco Road” and “Indian Reservation.”

Understood … if Boise, Salem and Olympia can’t come to an agreement between themselves then there’s a good reason to have a neutral third party mediating between the three … but I think you underestimate the great pride Idahoans have in their pristine environment … and for them it’s the EPA (and Salem) that interferes with installing the mercury scrubbers at Ash Grove …

It could also be a race to the top … if Idaho allowed toxic waste dumping would people continue buying Idaho Potatoes? … how much does Oregon benefit from their renewable power generation? … why do folks build factories in Oregon today when Idaho has slightly laxer environmental laws … it’s good advertising copy to say by 2029 the factory in Oregon will use absolutely NO coal fired electricity …

It quickly identifies folks who completely agree with my argument and have nothing else to criticize except my puncturating … letting them make fools of themselves and save me the bother …

I can’t wade through all your ellipses, I’m afraid.

Come on, man, I helped you with that in my post above. He said “… … … … … … … … … … … …”. It’s like a quiet version of the bird in Peanuts.

Let me get this straight. You use ellipses to make fools of people who completely agree with your argument? I don’t think you need to make the effort. Agreeing with the arguments I’ve seen from you would make a fool of anyone.

No, of course not. But they passed legislation in the House to end Obamacare about 62 times. But now they are going to do it. The EPA is on their hit list. At some point it very well could be ended as part of some trade-off.

I think he uses them because he thinks that it gives him an air of thoughtful musing. It’s mostly just annoying and keeps me from finding out if he anything useful to say. For all I know, he’s a raving liberal.

Not part of the Loudermilk Biscuit Band?

Thank you …

Isn’t that Powdermilk Biscuits?
