Sweeping anti-trans bill, SB244, has been passed in Kansas over the Democratic governor’s veto, and Kansas is now sending out letters to transgender people in the state compelling them to forfeit their driver’s licenses and have them replaced with ones that match their sex assigned at birth. What are the odds this also affects their ability to vote by making “acceptable” IDs difficult to obtain? A reminder that the Nazis also began revoking government IDs for trans people almost immediately after taking power in 1933. It was 1938 before they did the same for Jews. ---

Not sure if there’s a better place to put this, but HHS has released a report[accusing several Ohio medical providers of fraud.](https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/healthcare/2026/08/19/ohio-hospitals-accused-of-fraudulent-billing-for-gender-affirming-care/91305915007/) There is, of course, no evidence of fraud. But the DOJ has been trying to get medical records (names and medical histories) from hospitals for over a year now, and they keep getting shut down in court.
