He clipped the quote the way he did in order to suggest that I was suggesting that video games was the cause of the increase in kids using guns to kill people. The full quote, which I supplied, shows that I have no idea what the cause is and was just listing things to make that very point. I might have just as well, added, “Is it the water?” To be clear, I did not claim I was “misquoted”. The words were accurate, but truncated to change the meaning of what I wrote. ---

You’re right. In the quote you clipped, I should have used “gender” instead of “sexuality”. That what I was trying to say and used the wrong term. ---

As I said - the early 90’s called, and they want their moral panics back. I don’t think the bits of the quote I snipped alter the meaning in any meaningful way, but if you do, I apologize - that was not my intention. ---

Your “mistake” there just so happened to conflate sexual attraction and gender identity, something which is a common tactic of those who deny the validity of identifying with a gender other than the one you were assigned at birth. This seems to be a pattern with you, with @SuntanLotion, and with others in this thread. You claim to have no issue with trans people, you’re just asking question - it just so happens that you do so by repeating exceedingly bigoted talking points. It’s quite tiresome, and no one is buying it. ---

I’m a big fan of ill-informed discrediting of medical treatments intended to help at risk children followed up with idle navel gazing about how gee whiz it sure would be nice to know why kids are killing themselves. ---

From Kenneth Zuker’s Wiki page [Kenneth Zucker - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Zucker#Therapeutic_intervention_for_gender_variance): " Since the mid-1970s, Zucker has treated about 500 preadolescent gender-variant children to have them accept the gender identity they were assigned at birth until they are at an age he believes they may determine their own gender identity." In other words, long term indoctrination from an early age, until he determines that they with make the “right” decision on their own. Some of this indoctrination includes not letting the “assigned male at birth” child have any toys he feels are associated with girls, not letting the child have female friends, and not even letting the child draw pictures of girls. Looks a lot like very long term conversion therapy to me.
