Employers can have separate policies for men and women, i.e. dress codes, bathrooms. Federal courts have ruled that is not considered discrimination on the basis of sex, so long as the policies are not too one-sided. It is [currently being litigated](https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69048644/state-of-texas-v-equal-employment-opportunity-commission/) whether forcing transgender employees to use the wrong bathroom, pronouns, dress code, is considered sexual harassment. Though, the Trump administration is likely to stop defending that interpretation of Title VII. ~Max ---

Somebody better stop them before the trains start rolling. You know trans people were packed onto the cattle cars by Nazis along with other LGBTQ people. If you didn’t know that, you know it now. Then as now, trans people were the most at risk of persecution of the LGBTQ population. ---

My buddy told me he had to fight in court for years to get his gender changed to “x”. Just got it accomplished last year. I can’t even imagine how bad this must feel. I’m hurt and ashamed that so many people want treat their neighbors like this. ---

Now that there are many widely-known cases of male-born people identifying as women while making it quite clear that their bodies are still fully male (eg: Jessica Yaniv, Danielle Muscato, [Francisco Javier](https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2024/01/19/watch-trans-soldier-in-southern-spain-demands-to-share-female-changing-rooms-adding-what-does-it-matter-if-im-six-foot-tall-with-a-beard/), [Planet Fitness Person](https://x.com/2genders1truth/status/1769054711884173633), [Rose Henderson](https://sex-matters.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Case-briefing-Darlington-nurses.pdf), [Tyler Porter](https://archive.md/yuJzh), [California YMCA person](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11634567/Girl-17-weeps-recalls-seeing-naked-trans-woman-penis-womens-changing-room.html) and so on and so forth) Apparently nothing bad has happened to these people, despite everyone around them knowing that they are male and claim a woman gender identity. And none of them seem to be acting like they think it’s a threat. So it doesn’t seem like this legislation is the sort of thing that a trans person should fear though it may of course annoy you. ---

Bigots like you always try to blame us for other bigots taking away our rights. “The trans people went too far in securing their civil rights and so the backlash is justified.” There is nothing wrong with self-id, and not everyone has the same access to HRT and gender affirming surgeries thanks to our terrible health care system. ---

The specific rule attempting to be implemented here is: don’t go in places where female people are taking their clothes off unless you’re female. (also, don’t participate in female sports unless you’re female) Many female people are very invested in that rule. The trans community has been trying to get around that rule by any means possible, including explicitly stating that they won’t abide by it if authorities attempt to force the issue. Thus, authorities are now tightening up their procedures for ensuring that people obey this rule. Claiming a female gender identity while actually being known by everyone to be male can’t be that dangerous, or you wouldn’t get self-identified transwomen going so far out of their way to insist upon it as to appear fully naked, with penis, in women’s shelters and changerooms. This talk of being “sent to the camps” is fearmongering. If you want there to be less official insistence on documents with accurate sexes on them, the path to that is clear - if you’re not female, don’t go places where female people take their clothes off, and don’t encourage other not-female people to think they have the right to do that either. ---

Plenty of female people are being excluded from such places by this rule, and plenty of male people are being forced into such places. ---

…as we slide into suicide-by-Mod territory… Meanwhile, as mentioned, the new crew in the White House openly and brazenly promised to undo all progress in trans rights and are working towards just that, while their acolytes across the different statehouses and Department headquarters are just throwing about whatever they can come up in that general direction because as usual there is no one single comprehensive plan but just a scattershot approach. What I see here is that for some time a lot of America seemed satisfied to sort of pretend trans did not happen or just was something that went on out there in the shadows of the fringe among the freaks and oddballs, as it were. But for some reason at some point someone began loudly proclaiming what a threat it was and that crowd just went for it. … Specifically about the Republicans, MAGAs and Religious Fundamentalists share a vision that there is this fixed natural/god-given order, where everyone has their place fixed and decreed from above, and everyone has to stay in their place and if you don’t fit into that then you have NO choice but to bite the bullet and grind through it. That there is no right to be happy in this earthy life in a way contrary to that order or stepping out of our predetermined place, and we all just have to tough it out, too bad. They may not intend to put anyone in trains to camps but they are perfectly ready to let you suffer and die in individual desperation as long as they don’t have to acknowledge your existence. ---

Not particularly. Sex-based categorisation says that people are allowed to go into sex-separated spaces, based on what their sex is. The normal opinion is that sex doesn’t change, even if you change your outward appearance. I wouldn’t become Arnold Schwarzenneger by putting on a latex Arnie suit, even if it was a _really really good one_ that fooled everyone, I wouldn’t become male by the same mechanism, and nobody becomes male by taking drugs or having surgery that has a similar effect.
