# Reputable online custom computer websites?

IMHO won against GQ on a d% roll, so I’m putting this in here.
I just this past five minutes checked my bank account and found that my rich Uncle Sam deposited my tax refund this morning. Now is the moment I’ve been waiting for for over two months…I get to buy my new computer!
I’ve had my eye on Ascendtech’s “Pick a basic PC and we’ll customize it for you” concept, but I’ve also seen some online chatter criticizing Ascendtech for some pretty deceptive practices, so that’s making me hesitate.
What are some good online customizable ordering websites with good prices? My preliminary build on Ascendtech’s site had some good stuff in it (4G RAM, 1G video card, 650G hard drive, 22" LCD monitor) for around $800. Are there any places that can match or better that?
I’ve decided that I don’t know enough about how to build a computer to do it piecemeal…the thought of paying for the components and then snapping something off when I’m putting it together gives me the shakes before I even order!

I’m planning a new computer in the summer and in looking around, I wasn’t happy with the choices or cost compared to a DIY build.

The reviews of Ascendtech look pretty bad and I’ve seen some horrors about CyberPower. IbuyPower’s site looks identical to CyberPower’s and there is some speculation they’re the same company. Don’t know about that.
Also, some of the custom configs provide no guidance in choosing parts or have a very limited selection.
