You could make them, but be more subtle in your delivery system – say, have 'em at your house, you’re hanging out watching TV, hey, want some cookies … and then if he likes them you can give him some to take home. ---

Does he like coffee? Make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, using decent chips (Ghirardelli’s are mighty good). Buy some Turkish coffee–it’s just coffee that’s very finely ground, almost like powder. Add about 1/3 cup of the grounds to the butter when you’re creaming it. Use pecans or hazelnuts in the recipe instead of walnuts. They’re to die for. Possibly more romantic: make a no-nut brownie recipe. While it’s cooling, melt a 4 oz. bar of decent semisweet chocolate. Mix it and a couple spoonfuls of seedless raspberry jam into a package of cream cheese and beat until fluffy. Spread this chocolate-raspberry frosting over the brownies. Drizzle the top with more melted chocolate (white chocolate in addition to dark chocolate is lovely) like you’re Jackson Pollack. Let cool. They’re very luscious. ---

Any recipe with cannabutter\* in it is sure to work wonders 😃 My favorite is warm chewy gooey chocolate chip cookies. No nuts, no peanut butter and no oatmeal! No raisins either. ---

I vote for thick, chewy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips. They’re best with mini Hershey’s kisses, but those are really hard to find, so regular chocolate chips (or good-quality, chocolate chunks–not cheap ones, because those are usually nasty.) If he likes nuts, Whole Foods pecan pie cookes are wonderful. I haven’t tried this recipes, but it did come from Whole Foods, so it should be pretty much like the ones they have in the stores. Pecan Pie Cookies 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces 1 cup pecan meal 1;2 lb unsalted butter, at room temp 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 3/4 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Toast pecan pieces and pecan meal until lightly browned and fragrant (about 2 minutes for pecan meal and 3-5 minutes for pecan pieces). Cool. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, pecans and pecan meal. Gradually add to butter and mix well. Drop rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes, until set. NOTE: If you can’t find pecan meal, make your own by pulsing pecans in a food processor until they are the texture of coarse cornmeal. Don’t overprocess, or you’ll have pecan butter. ---

1 box yellow cake mix without pudding in the mix 1 stick butter, softened 1 block of cream cheese (8 oz), softened 1 tsp vanilla 1 egg yolk Beat together cream cheese and butter with a hand mixer. Add vanilla and egg yolk, beat until smooth. Mix in the cake mix. Refrigerate for an hour, then roll into 1-inch balls and bake at 325 degrees for 8-12 minutes. They will be very soft–if the edges or top get brown they’re overdone. Let cool before removing from cookie sheet. These store and ship well. ---

He has had numerous tests and an endoscopy, and has tried different drugs/remedies, but nothing is working. So eating is no longer a pleasure for him- even cookies. One cookie can make him sick all day. He’s lost a ton of weight in a very short time. It’s worrisome. Re meatloaf: he’s a vegetarian. ---
