It was tough to tell just how much that Harry (or Hssssssssgrg, as his friends call him) was telling Asta was true. He said they’ve been coming here forever to help humanity, but the AF guy discovered they wiped out a culture that they had been “helping”. ---

This has been a trend since, possibly, _Homeland_—which surprised many at the time by quickly introducing a plot development that most viewers had expected to be ‘led up to’ much more gradually. I mean, there were newspaper articles about it at the time. Like others, I’m very relieved and happy that this show has been renewed. More and more it’s reminding me of favorites like HBO’s _Barry_: consistently surprising and pleasing, and over **much** too soon. ---

Great episode - I really wanted Asta to have a moment of “Max was right this whole time?”. and poor Darcy - she earned my admiration in this episode - only to be dumped at the clinic door with no explanation (yet). ---

So they are setting up the climax of the final episode of Season 1 to be Max laying eyes on the government agents. (I believe.) Which tends to imply that he might see… something of interest, when he looks at them. The murderous female agent is the obvious distractor, here. Her indifference to human life, every time we’ve seen her, has rivaled alien-Harry’s own. My money is on Linda Hamilton. The story would probably be: the little girl and her father saw something they weren’t supposed to, back at the lighthouse all those years ago—and one or both were replaced with alien duplicates. I’m guessing this both because it would be a surprising plot twist, and because…Linda Hamilton. Why would she have taken this role, which, so far, hasn’t amounted to much? Well, we’ll see. ---

No one says ‘I can hardly wait for the upcoming Linda Hamilton movie!’ (She has that in common with thousands of performers who DID used to headline movies, and now either do small parts or no parts at all, of course.) It’s possible that my guess (that her character will be seen differently by Max) is completely wrong, and that Hamilton took a small role that will _stay_ small, just because she’s a friend of someone involved in the show, or because of boredom, or for some other reason. Just one more day until we find out how they’re going to end the season… ---

The whole one-in-a-million people can see through Harry’s false appearance bothers me. That sounds like in a large city, there are going to be multiple people who see him, even at a distance, and immediately freak out at the obvious alien. ---
