I just skimmed the original thread, but so far as I can tell its a sarcastic response to **Senor Beef’s** sarcastic response to his interlocutors sarcasm. Its possible the Dope may need to cut down on sarcasm. ---

That said, it is utterly ridiculous to measure the worth of a person by their political affiliation. I have friends–good friends—all across the political spectrum. Politics is just one aspect of a personality. One of my favorite memories from law school was lunch with a group we laughing called “The Round Table”. The group featured me on the right, another guy that was in the middle, and a third that was a card-carrying left-winger. We debated the issues of the day with vigor, rarely reaching anything approaching a consensus. We also studied together, drank together, chased women together, and otherwise interacted in the way friends do. Hell..my wife, aka The Druidess, is liberal. Her vote cancelled mine in the last presidential election. I’ve co-counseled a number of complex cases with a guy that is the stereotypical New York liberal at least as much as I’m the stereotypical Southern conservative, if not more so. I suspect his vote has cancelled mine in every election I’ve been old enough to vote in. Dude is very smart, and a damn fine lawyer. ---

Several studies have shown that conservatives have more nightmares than liberals. About 3 times as many. So being a conservative means you’re a scardy cat. ---
