Resources for the multiple allergic child

Mama Zappa - I sent that article to my sister and niece when it came out, but my niece is scared to try it.

Broomstick - They probably have to have specific parameters for testing protocols. They test on a certain control group, then broaden the scope if they determine it’s effective.

Here are pics from his last prick test. They’re going to do patch testing, but are waiting for something, maybe insurance.

Regarding the fish:

the test is for “fish”, but that’s like testing for “meat”. My niece is allergic to a kind of flat fish and we’re treating it as “allergic to flat fishes”*, but she’s not allergic to other kinds of fish, to shellfish or to cephalopodes. I’m sensitive to cod but not to other fishes. In your nephew’s case, I’d ask to have a “fish panel” done.
And for the protocols, very often there is no broadening of protocols. What happens is that either the treatment gets approved only for the group on which it was tested (so it’s not available for others) or that it’s approved for everybody without further testing (and then it turns out that “gee, this negative reaction which took place in 0.1% of the all-male test population happens in 10% of women”).
