What resources are there to study _fiqh_, particularly of the Sunni Hanafi and/or Maliki _madhahib_, for someone who neither knows Arabic nor is a specialist in \*fiqh \*(whether as a scholar of Islam or as a _faqih_, _mufti_, or _qazi_)?

What main resources are used by experts in _fiqh_? Are there any standard guides or volumes used?

I think there’s something called _Fiqh as-Sunnah_. I have something calling itself an abridged version of _Fiqh as-Sunnah_ in English (from Pakistan), but it is very, very poorly written/compiled/put together.

There has to be someone who knows something about this. **yBeayf** maybe? Perhaps the inimitable **Tamerlane**? Some well-read, knowledgeable Muslim?

One last time. Hopefully someone can help out.
