IIRC Jimmy took over the peanut farm from his father sometime in the 1950’s. Is the farm still operational? If so, is it owned by a Carter? Google is failing me. Edit: never mind. I see that he sold the farm (the entire company, in fact) after leaving the presidency. ---

I am pleased Carter hit three digits and hope he gets a chance to vote. His presidency was before my time. I understand he is the only President to have written the most books and had the fewest written about him, suggesting the absence of scandal is boring. I did not know he is largely personally responsible for eradicating the Guinea Worm. People would _talk_ with him, when an ex-President is on the line people pick up the phone, and once he got that wedge in he was good at persuading them. It was always nice to see somebody use that kind of status for a good cause, like Carter did. ---
