Can we broaden the OP? I went to join a dentist recently. From the outside all normal: big building, frosted glass with a professional-looking logo. Inside though, it was just the dentist’s home. There was no reception area, it was just an ordinary lounge. And the receptionist (who, it turned out, was the dentist’s partner), was holding a baby and had to move some toys and things off the sofa so I could sit down. I felt a bit awkward at the point where she had to leave the room to get a form and I was left alone with the baby (I’m fine with children, it was just a strange situation). I didn’t sign up. ---
