# Restrictions on standard issue license plates

…so could something like

**3M TA3**

or worse get through the system?

New York has messed up plates. They can be in any of the following formats:

ABC-123  
A12-3BC  
AB1-234  
and maybe:  
123-ABC

Odd. I think they’re coming out with a 4th digit though, so we should be seeing some very interesting formats.
