I always thought of _[The New Statesman](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Statesman)_ as a Thatcherite _Blackadder_, although Alan B’Stard was distinctly nastier than Edmund. There’s even a Piers/Baldrick commonality. ---

Parts of season 3 were kinda weak, but then they pulled it all together and had a pretty great finale that would be weakened if they ever did anything else. I really hope the off again on again movie doesn’t happen, because you know, there doesn’t need to be any more after that finale.
