# Returning to forum after posting - possible?

With the current version of the board’s software, is it possible to set it to return posters to the forum in which they were posting rather than the thread itself? Perhaps a choice of where to return?

You need to be returned to the thread so’s you can make sure your post went through.

Yes, it is possible, but the SDMB is unlikely to make any modifications to do so. Plus, I imagine there are plenty of people who prefer being returned to the thread, so you will naturally get two camps…

Some people (myself included) open each thread in a new window separate from the forum listing, so there’s no need to “go back” to the forum after posting.

Depends what you mean by “possible”. To make that happen someone would have to change the source code and we avoid source code changes.
